What is the 2026 Klimabonus?
The Klimabonus is the Luxembourg State's grant scheme designed to encourage households to invest in sustainable energy solutions: photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, batteries and charging stations. Managed by the Ministry of the Economy, it is part of the national carbon-neutrality strategy.
The new pre-financing: what changes in 2026
The big news for 2026 is pre-financing: instead of paying the full amount upfront and waiting for the grant to be reimbursed, the Klimabonus can now be deducted directly from the installer's invoice. You only pay the remaining balance, greatly reducing the initial cash effort.
Available grant amounts
Amounts vary by technology and installed capacity. For self-consumption photovoltaics up to 15 kWp, the grant can reach €10,000. A battery premium of €2,250 may be added, and VAT is reduced to 3% instead of 17%.
| Technology | Maximum grant |
|---|---|
| Photovoltaics (≤ 15 kWp) | up to €10,000 |
| Home battery | €2,250 |
| Air/water heat pump | up to €8,000 |
| Charging station | up to €1,200 |
| Reduced VAT | 3% instead of 17% |
How to combine municipal premiums
Many Luxembourg municipalities offer a premium on top of the national Klimabonus. These municipal premiums can be combined and may add several hundred euros depending on where you live.
Eligibility conditions
To benefit from the Klimabonus, the installation must be carried out by a registered company, meet the scheme's technical requirements and concern a dwelling located in Luxembourg. The equipment must meet the quality standards set by the Ministry.
Which installers are registered?
Only companies registered with the Ministry of the Economy can carry out installations eligible for the Klimabonus. All installers in our network are verified and registered, ensuring your application complies.
Klimaprêt: financing the remaining balance
The Klimaprêt is a low-interest loan, even interest-free depending on income, to finance the share not covered by grants. It ideally complements Klimabonus pre-financing for households wishing to spread out their investment.
